5 SWEATS OUTFITS THAT LOOK AS GOOD AS THEY FEEL

Knit Picks

We’re a week out from Thanksgiving, and I’m thankful for sweata weatha here in Atlanta!

Or in my case, sweatshirt weather. I am a creature of comfort who opts for flats over heels, flowy over fitted, buttery sweatshirts over itchy sweaters and has zero tolerance for tags. But my practical preferences are sensory sensitivities not to be mistaken for fashion apathy.

I love clothes and getting dressed and will even endure pain for beauty on rare occasion. Heck, I worked for and wore Spanx for ten years. And like anyone who has seen an episode of TLC’s What Not To Wear, may it rest in peace, I believe looking good on the outside helps you feel better on the inside.

Thanksgiving generally kicks off the season of dressing to impress, but like most things this year, Covid has us improvising. My crew and I will be staying put, but home doesn’t have to mean homely for the holidays.

Whether you’re hanging home or traveling - staying in or venturing out, you can feel good about dressing to feel good with sweat shirts, pants and dresses EVERYWHERE at every price point.

Here are a few looks I’ll be wearing with gratitude from Thanksgiving through the eagerly awaited end of 2020. Links provided below!

  1. Good Sport

I am living in this classic crewneck sweatshirt from Amazon’s Daily Essentials collection and black joggers by Athleta (pictured & linked below) and Vuori. The top is the perfect weight to feel high quality but not too hot, and it’s cut a little longer in the back for butt coverage with cute, swingy side slits.

2. Ladies Lounge

My mother-in-law gave me my first super-soft Barefoot Dreams cardigan several years ago, and it’s been a must have ever since. I pair mine over this Target brushed, long-line sports bra and cozy sweats on days when I’m staying home but don’t want to look homely. And I’m putting the Everlane sustainable slipper boots on my Christmas list to replace my beloved, old Uggs of a similar style that are ready to retire.

3. Dress Down

I love the juxtaposition of this Athleta sweatshirt dress - tailored fit + super soft jersey knit. And I can vouch for these Old Navy 7/8 leggings that flatter without squeezing, hit at the perfect spot on the ankle and waist without rolling, have a phone side pocket and won’t break the bank.

4. Festive Feels

I bought this Amazon Daily Rituals jumpsuit for $10 on Prime Day (regularly around $30 ) and love it for it’s sweat pant feel and styling flexibility. Dress it up with blazer, belt and comfy slides for a holiday ensemble that feels as good as it looks.

5. Casual Cool

I love this Bow & Drape x Spanx sweatshirt as a fun, fashionable way to show some personality. PopularRails tops are a little pricey but super soft, and I love the preppy vibe of this one with the ruffle collar. These Madewell Jeans are my favorite for the non-bagging, comfy stretch and higher rise, and yes, mama, you CAN get low in these apple bottom jeans and boots (or Vans sneaks) with the fur.

Here’s to finding gratitude and comfort wherever we can this year!

Happy Thanksgiving.
