An Ode to Audible
Audible, dearest audible. I pledge my love to thee.
A vessel of wisdom and virtue, you’re more than an app to me.
For years I’ve felt like a failure, but your credits have lit the way,
to works of art so lovely - gifts each time I press play.
The piles of books not finished - the shame of not being well read,
are gone now that I can listen as I fold clothes on top of my bed.
Angelou, Doyle and Gilbert, just a few of the treasures I’ve found.
Obama, Austen and Lee, the gems yet to read abound.
As a busy mom of three, I multitask when I can.
Thanks to you and my earbuds, I’m transported from my minivan.
As a closeted artist myself, with each book I have grown.
By hearing the words of others, I’ve found courage to share my own.
